A good site, but in the "s" section you've
missed out the Squire - one of the most
beautiful cars ever built. The company was
founded by Adrian Squire in England in the
1930's, and only about 9 were ever built -it
was fast and expensive. I believe there is a
surviving example in California. |

Update on the rare white 2-door converitble
Veritas built by Mr. Hermann Spohn of Spohn
Coachworks of Ravensburg Germany. Still safe
and sound in a private Chicago warehouse, this
red leather car was custom built for a 1940's
radio show called "Boston Blacky Private Eye".
I found a great website at www.elomnibus.com
which explains some of the history of Spohn.
Maybach auto and Hermann Spohn go back to the
1930's and after the War, Ford, Chrysler all
used this designer for special projects seen on
the elomnbus website. I sent the BMW Museum in
2005 my video of the lost 1949 Veritas Spohn
project car and they sent me some nice gifts
and asked when they could get their car back,
which I believe Germany will get its car back
in the next 10 years or so. I am planning to re-
photograph the 49 Veritas again this month of
Oct 2006. |
